Born on December 18, 1986, in Conakry, Guinea, and raised in Boké, Nioke showcased an early affinity for music. By the banks of the Rio Nunez, he honed his vocal prowess and learned to play indigenous instruments like the bolon, gongoma, and cassi. His performances span up to seven languages, including his mother tongue, Coniagui, along with Malinké, Susu, Fulani, French, English, and Mandinka.
In his twenties, Nioke's journey took him across West African regions, where he shared his art with diverse communities. A series of life challenges, including encounters with immigration authorities, eventually led him to Margate, UK. There, he began to experiment with his sound, fusing traditional West African music with modern electronics, creating a captivating hybrid that resonates with global audiences.
His 2020 EP "Youkounkoun," produced with Ghost Culture, marked a significant turning point in his career, characterized by its hypnotic and layered vocals set against a backdrop of innovative electronic rhythms. The collaborative 2021 project "Marasi," with Swedish musician sir Was, further enriched his sonic palette, enhancing his growing reputation.
